Administration Announces Economic Grant Finalists

60 coalitions given $500,000 to prepare for final round.

White House Senior Advisor Gene Sperling only expected 150 applicants for the Build Back Better grants for pandemic economic recovery, but 529 regional coalitions applied. $1 billion has been allocated to the program, which is intended to rebuild and increase industry and manufacturing in the United States. 60 finalists were chosen from the total applicants, who were each given $500,000 to prepare their presentations for the final application in March 2022.

“The Build Back Better Regional Challenge aims to supercharge local economies and increase American competitiveness around the globe,” said Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. “The outpouring of interest in this program shows the demand for the Build Back Better agenda and the desire to not only create good-paying jobs, but also strengthen our country’s economic resiliency for years down the road.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Raimondo as she oversees this application process.
  • For wisdom for the finalists to produce effective economic recovery and rebuilding plans.
  • For the president and his administration as they develop concepts to support commerce.
